About

Hi! I am Jess

The mom behind Roaming with Minis

I’ve always had a serious case of wanderlust. Before kids, I studied abroad in three different countries (where I contracted the travel bug) and promised myself that travel wouldn’t end once I became a parent. Spoiler: it didn’t. I wanted my minis to grow up knowing that adventure doesn’t end when babies arrive—it just looks a little different (and usually involves more snacks and bathroom breaks!).

My first trip as a mom wasn’t anything glamorous—it was a road trip with a baby in tow to visit my aunt’s lake house, which I severely overpacked for. A few weeks after that we took our first flight and then came the big leap: my first international trip with my oldest at just 9 months old (without my partner!). From that point on, we were hooked. Since then, my kids and I have explored Hawaii, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Costa Rica, Spain, and countless domestic destinations—sometimes with my partner, and sometimes on girls’ trips with friends who don’t mind a toddler(s) tagging along. Along the way, I’ve learned that traveling with kids isn’t about making it perfect—it’s about making it possible, fun, and full of memories you’ll laugh about later.

On this blog, I share the tips, stories, and honest lessons I’ve picked up from adventuring with little ones. My goal? To help other parents see that you don’t have to put travel on pause just because you’ve got minis in tow.
Because if I can juggle sippy cups at airport security, you can too.

Why I Started Roaming with Minis

Traveling with kids can feel intimidating. Between the paperwork, packing lists, flight strategies, and meltdowns (yes, they happen), it’s easy to believe travel is “too hard” with little ones. But here’s the truth: with thoughtful planning and the right mindset, family travel can be not only doable, but enjoyable.

That’s why I started Roaming with Minis—to share real stories and practical tips that make traveling with children less stressful and a lot more fun.

What You’ll Find Here
At Roaming with Minis, I share:
Practical resources – packing lists, paperwork checklists, and planning tools.
Travel tips – from flying with infants to long-haul strategies with toddlers.
Destination guides – family-friendly spots around the world.
Relatable stories – the good, the messy, and the magical moments that make travel with kids unforgettable.

My Travel Style
I like to keep things realistic and approachable. That means balancing budget-friendly tips with the occasional splurge, mixing cultural adventures with downtime, and making sure there’s always gelato (or coffee) nearby. My goal isn’t to create Pinterest-perfect vacations—it’s to help families make memories together.

A Few Fun Facts
I’ve flown internationally with my kids solo (more than once!).
My youngest once had a meltdown halfway across the Atlantic—spoiler: the world didn’t end, and we all survived.
I believe a good baby carrier can save your sanity on flights.
My kids now think airports are just playgrounds with luggage carts.
